Where to book a room near the conference

The Victoria Conference Centre is located right in the downtown core of the city, and is attached to the historical Empress Hotel. There is a large number of hotels and bed and breakfast in this area, offering a wide-range of accommodations ranging from modest to luxurious. The Conference Centre maintains a list here.

Location :

The conference will take place at the Victoria Conference Centre, which is located in the downtown area of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Useful visitor information can be obtained from Tourism Victoria

Getting there :

Most people will fly into the Victoria International Airport, which is served by several major airlines. The airport is located approximately 25km North of downtown Victoria and the airport website maintains a list of the local transportation options.

Several local companies also offer scheduled floatplane and helicopter services from Vancouver and Seattle to the Victoria Inner Harbor, which is very close to the Conference Centre.

Since Victoria is on an island (Vancouver Island), the only alternative to flying is sailing. Ferry Service is available between Tsawwassen (Vancouver) and Swartz Bay on BC Ferries, between Anacortes (USA) and Sydney on Washington State Ferries, and between Port-Angeles (USA) and Victoria's Inner Harbour on the M.V. Coho Ferry. There is also a fast passenger-only catamaran service between downtown Seattle (USA) and Victoria's Inner Harbour on the Victoria Clipper.
